Discernment

Today I listened to a message at church that spoke on the amount of deception that can be possible and the false prophets and as I walked back to our current room, I kept hearing the word “discernment” come through and was being reminded on how relevant this message and singular word has been in this extreme faith journey of mine.

There have been plenty of times that I have heard some intuitive guidance and it was not from Holy Spirit and there are a multitude of times that the direction has been. So how do we know when it is what?

Through my life, I have had many interactions with the spirit realm and with/of varying spirits. I have had to fine tune this antennae of mine and also learn how to interact with or establish boundaries. I have noticed that sometimes when I speak on the spirit realm it can cause some people to retract in disbelief and that is okay, as I have mentioned in my previous post, people will either feel it or run from it. No matter where you are on that awareness of the spirit realm, it does not change the fact that it is indeed real and always a part of our lives.

“For we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 4:12

Through my life I have both willingly and unknowingly interacted with alot of varying spirits and so this word of discernment has been an on-going lesson in my life’s experiences. And believe me, there IS a difference between each interaction and this IS valuable wisdom to have especially if you decide to walk a life seeking the worthiness of living as God has intended. Because, the more you seek this kind of connection with God and living, the more you will Need solid discernment to enable the best steps for the progressions.

Looking back I can see how deliberate my angels and the Holy Spirit have been in my life to make sure that as life continued into the way things are that I would be able to truly hone in on these cues. I have this little white rabbit tattoo that is on my right knee and it was randomly dropped into my awareness to get when I got one of my other tattoos because it was becoming really important that I tune into the divine guidance with and for my life; I was told as this instruction was received, ‘it may not always make sense but it is important that you follow the guidance provided.’. This became extremely important when I was driving and living in my car through Mexico without any cell service and proper maps as I happened to come across the right person that would be able to help me know which road I missed or that I was still in alignment with the ideal path.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

“Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see.” Hebrews 11:1

There is reason we are led through the word of God to armor up, use discernment, follow without seeing and trust without always knowing why.

So, how does one discern between what is God and life giving/directing and what is other?

One of the easiest ways is to ask just that! Is this guidance giving life or taking life? Now, it is important to be able to have some awareness of even this because sometimes a decision can be more life giving aaand also incredibly scary because of the amount of trust required and the level of uncertainty involved… meaning that even if you follow all the right cues, does not mean it will always be smooth.

Another thing I have been able to acknowledge is the tone and frequency or energy with the direction. Typically, the Holy Spirit or divine guidance is sweet, subtle and sure with gentle reminders on why a direction was necessary instead of giving shame. This can be tricky at times because 1) we are really tough on ourselves and 2) the energy that wants to distort you or derail can be rather convincing at times. There was only one time that I felt my angels really screaming at me and it was when I was being stubborn thinking I knew better than the instructions given, every other time there is a distinct difference in tone and presence.

Then there becomes the discernment of our own human interactions this one is easier for most and tougher at times for me. We (especially me) want to be open and able to be received with the same level of compassion as I attempt to give/receive others with. I see and sense a lot more than some realize and it can be tricky because living in this manner is not something that most are ready to interact with and then the ones that do are not always fully aware and could be working with their own influence(s).

As this blog could continue to go on, I also have discernment on when to stop and pay attention to my child that very clearly lets me know when it is time and even tends to have better discernment than me. So, I will close with saying take some time to meditate, breathe and tune in to a deeper layer of life so that you can use proper discernment and enable your life to expand with the creator of the universe and your life.

It is not always easy… but I have found it worth it.
