What’s it to you?

This has been sitting with me in some form for a while now and I was not able to respond to it well because it seemed everything I would say would just be taken the wrong way and create more animosity. The other day I was listening to one of the churches that I have collected along my journey and the talk was on comparison. This is a great topic for us these days and I really appreciated the way that the pastor was able to go through the Bible and give examples of how even back in the time with Jesus there was comparison and competition amongst the best of them.

The single best scripture that I was able to take away from the talk and also help me with this tangle in my mind is: John 21:22. I also found great appreciation in the realness of the pastor as he too had revelations with this verse after years of studying the word it finally clicked with him to give an aha moment.

The verse is, “Jesus replied, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is it to you? As for you, follow me.””

So why has this been such an impactful revolutionary verse for me?

Well, if you are following along with these blogs you can see that my life is not a typical these days and you have picked up on that it has actually caused people to remove themselves from my life instead of cheer me on… and that is just it. There was one time I told a friend that their ridicule just strengthens my faith but I did not know how to continue that. I knew that my relationship and journey with God, Christ and the Holy Spirit was not for anyone else but me and that just as each of us are different individuals, our Father works with us individually differently AND that it is not a humans place to judge that path. But! How do you tell a friend that who is literally throwing scriptures at you and telling you that they are led by God to tell me how I have made bad decisions? I ended up needing to just conserve myself, create loving space and continue to tune in to my relationship with Jesus, it by no means is easy.

Sometimes we need to train and be more diligent in our faith in order to be prepared for all the varying degrees of trials in this world… especially with those we are closest with. Jesus’ family and home town was the least available to him and his work.

So, I write this blog with a sense of relief and compassion. We are all individually loved more than we could ever comprehend fully and our creator wants to have a relationship with each and all of us. I never stopped loving my friends, I have complete respect for their senses and I appreciate the amount of love and stress they felt in wanting to impress their own on me, while also knowing that they are only seeing from their own lens and not able to fully comprehend or deliver in the best way.

We all have stuff to go through. We all have feelings and life things.

So, what’s it to you?

Focus on your relationship and path with God first, the mind and spirits of other can be tricky but the more you turn to God, the word and presence of Jesus, the more things can be cleared, allowed and managed.

You got this and are worth it.
