While some things have an instruction to be washed or rinsed with tepid water, I do not think otherwise tepid is something anyone really wants. I mean just say it, tepid, it even feels bleh or ick to say. Here is the definition: only slightly warm; showing little enthusiasm. Now say it again and then consider the sentiment behind/with the word and it’s meaning. Is that a feeling you would want to receive from anything about you? Is that a way that you want to be seen? Is that the coffee or tea you want to drink? Or the buttered toast you want to eat? And why do I feel the need to create a post on such a drab thing?
I don’t pay too much attention to media and have started to only check in on social media every now and then but even with the little that I check in there is always some new update about how so and so in the celebrity scene has recently been baptised and has either stopped what they were doing or have completely switched to now use their platform to pray, share scriptures, expose things they witnessed, worship and or share their testimony. Here are some examples, if you haven’t already known: Denzel Washington, Kat Von Dee, Shia Lebouf, Russel Brand, Justin Bieber and Alice Cooper. I have watched some of these people share their testimony, prayers or worship and I will confirm, through my sensitivity with the Holy Spirit’s presence, that these are real and very necessary. What is interesting is how easy it can be to think that it is fake and feel the need to look in to it or watch it to be sure or to question it (depending on where you are in your path). Yet, even if it was fake, it is still bringing people to them to look in to it and what is awesome is that it is not and they are lit up – like for real lit. So, why have these entertainers shifted and what does it have to do with the word tepid and its feeling?
A lot of people are hurting, lost, confused and overwhelmed – I see it everywhere, no matter what kind of life they present or have. So many people just don’t know what to believe because of the massive amount of distractions and overload of sensory fed knowledge mixed in with the varying storylines in songs, movies and shows that pollute and divide the natural connection of life. There is a serious battle but it is not a war that most see or are wanting to know but it is severely felt in existence and in the heart of creation – it is a sly separating from our Father and creator of the entire universe with a master plan of delusion from who we are. Even in or rather, especially in my own journey, I have experienced the ways that people challenge faith and then decide that it is not to their liking and/or that I am wrong. My heart obviously hurts for the misunderstandings and distances and have also found that this also fans the flames more – repent, pray, praise, get deeper in the Bible and grow closer to and stronger with Jesus. What happens is there becomes this fire externally and internally that makes a lot about this world uncomfortable.
So, these people that are speaking up and even myself to some degree have seen the darkness that rules this world and realized that it is not the life that is worthy living and the only way to live is to let the light take over the darkness. This isn’t comfortable or easy but it is necessary and there just isn’t any turning back. Can’t go back into the darkness when you feel and know the saving grace of the light and you can’t just be tepid because you know both the darkness and the light. There has to be a full on blaze, a purifying and a re-creation from who we chose to be for some time to who we were born to be with great intention on our lives. No longer does it feel good to go to a strip club or “partying” on a saturday night and then be okay with it as you walk in to church the next day… it just feels gross. You hear songs and conversations differently, you see movies and shows differently, you dress and hold yourself different (cleaner)… a veil has been lifted and your being shifted. There is just no longer a way to be or to accept tepidity.
Now in closing, I don’t want to ask you to jump full in. Rather, take moments to ask yourself if you are just being in the world and allowing the world to make you in to what you are or are you actually being? Are you able to acknowledge when you are being tepid about someone or something? Can you feel when you are half-assing love or a conversation? Then ask yourself this one super important question… do you want to be loved with barely any enthusiasm or do you want to be loved like you know deep within your entire being that you are on purpose, special and needed? When you know the deepest kind of love that only Jesus and our Father has the capacity to give, no other love can compare or come close and being less than is just no longer acceptable, period.
Who here knows what I am talking about and who here wants to know more of what I am talking about?
Per usual, thank you for taking time in reading and let me know if you need a prayer. You are worth it, really.
