Pressing in and ever pressing more

And so the old you is discarded and the new you has begun…

Something indeed happens and I honestly do not think even the written words fully prepare you for what takes place when you step out of the worldly ways and in to the new that begins when you invite Christ in to your heart and life (really and fully). Things of the world start to irritate you, things your used to do disgust you, how you dress changes along with your daily posturings and interactions shift. One of the classics is seeing the party girl transformed in to the homesteader or the porn addict praying for his faith filled wife… there are plenty of transformations that take place within each life and it even effects the lives around them (presently and for their future). But, there is even more that takes place that is not ever spoken of as frequently.

There comes a point in the transforming when yes: you listen to predominately worship music, you read the Bible daily, you turn from the things that distract and separate and you look a little differently maybe… but then you start to notice that you are convicted quicker, you repent with each conviction and you draw closer to and want to be pleasing to Him instead of the social medias and crowds you used to know. One thing I noticed though is that there becomes this thirst that never tires, this longing that steadies every day and type of studying that you just know will be for the rest of your life. A pressing closer to Him, a wanting to know Him to draw Him in and also to be more like Him. What is beautiful about this is how He also draws in and it is fact in how even as I type this the random youtube song that comes on is, “More of You”. [Have a few bucks to spare? You could buy me coffee here and add a nice perk to my days.]

Here is the greatest truth through all of time and existence – He loves us coming to Him. In fact, I have been shown that this is one of the greatest wounds of all creation is how that was severed through a quick action instead of seeking Him and His response first. He loves us SO much! Truly there is no love that will ever compare and no love that will ever satisfy. Once we know this and see even a glimpse of who and how He sees us, everything that we used to fill the void when led astray becomes obvious how terrible it all is and you know that there is no turning back. No turning back. Once you know that, you also know that it has to be a full immersion because there is no way that you want the enemy to get even the slightest foot hold in your life again. Even though you also know that the enemy won’t stop trying but at the same time you get stronger, more resilient and honestly a greater threat to the enemy while also pushing his attempts further and further out of reach.

If you find yourself thinking that you might be slightly obsessed with Jesus, be easy on yourself it is just part of your submersion and don’t stop, keep pressing and pressing more.

Have you found yourself in any of these stages? Do you agree or have any contributions you would like to share?

Your investment in Him is a worthy one and you are worth His love.

As always, thank you for your time and any connections.
