Do Not Fear

News and noise all around is striking at the same nerve of fear in most people lately. “I just feel tired…”, “I just felt I needed to stay home…”, “I’m so thankful we have this space together…” – These are some of the few comments I heard through the end of this week while many people have experienced extreme loss and fear for valid reasons. I can feel the pains of it all while in the midst of our own questions and what comes up most for me as I read the Bible and pray is the reminder that we should not fear.

Now, like I mentioned above, there are indeed valid reasons for concern. The world, every land, nation and person is hurting and experience some form of stretching while doing their best to live as best they can. And please do not minimize what one is feeling by thinking that your sufferings are more than. Only God knows the depths of what we are feeling and going through individually and what might seem simple to you is living on the edge to another. But, to not fear… and then on top of that we are also called and told to love and have compassion for those that are in kahoots with the evil one… yikes – sometimes it can feel impossible to follow our Lord and Saviour, but this is where He works best.

Yes, be aware of this world and operate in the best you can. But, put your hopes and trust in the one who has overcome the world because He knows exactly what He is doing and how it will all end. This is one of those stories where we won’t know the ending until it has been given to us when we get the opportunity to be home in His regular presence – the very reason why all the angels continually cry out, “HOLY!” because our Father is so incredibly awesome in all ways that there is nothing else that can be expressed, just a continual awe inspired holy…

As the last post expressed, we are to have compassion and be able to recognize the pain the one is feeling in order to be operating in such a way of pain. Here, I am called to talk on the fear aspect and how it is a great sin to fear. Yes, I said that to fear is to sin. Why? Because God has written in the Bible more than most commands that we should not fear. So, when we fear we are going against His command while also acting in a way that says that we do not have confidence in who and how He is. (I know these are tough topics I have been writing about lately, but I am encouraged to get these out while I work on my book because some one or many need to chew on these topics and possibly make some adjustments.) So, to fear is to deny our Father the very essence of who He is – the creator of heaven and earth along with the very fibers of your very existence. So, how do we let go fear when the world literally breeds it?

This is something that our Father has been very deliberately working through and out of me as I strip away all the theories of what I have learned and also what was impressed upon me. Yes, I am cautious and also I am growing more and more in a state of, ‘Well, I know God can take care of that.’ You see, I am a firm believer now through it all that we humans were never meant to know so much (especially now with everything (or the presumed everything) so easily attainable at our fingers), that is why the very first command was to not eat from this one tree and in turn why the evil one manipulated it in saying that we would be like God and know the difference between good and evil. This world then has been continually rising with the yeast of that very act that has allowed the root of pride and fear to be the essence of this fallen world. However! That is the exact reason why Christ came to us and rose for us! Hallelujah we still have a way to reach and walk with our Father.

This where we as Christ followers begin to really thrive, when we truly “Trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding…”(Proverbs 3:5) He has it all in His hands and the enemy loses in the end. You see the enemy knows his days are numbered and so his greatest tactic is to get more people to fear which turns more people from our Savior and further from the very real comfort in our Father with complete confidence in the fact that He made you on purpose and knows exactly what He is doing.

Here take a step with me and go look at the rings in a tree, the designs of flowers or even just simply consider this question – where does our breath and blood actually come from? When we can look at the finite details in the grandness of all creation it starts to put things in greater perspective. Our God is so incredibly awesome and real that He knows it all so perfectly that He even created a way for us to always have a way to Him and a way home through the sin, the wickedness and all the chaos that gets put in front of us at every turn.

So, what is the anti-fear protocol? Prayer, scripture, prayer, love, prayer, forgiveness, scripture, thanksgiving, prayer, praise, worship, prayer, scripture and an ever seeking of Him who has saved us, spoke and lived the word and died for us. I am not saying turning aside from knowing about the pains of this world, because that is also how we are called to be used in His kingdom, but rather know them and ask how to be used for Him while giving it all to Him. “For He knows the very hairs on your head…”

The greatest command He has for us is to know Him, love Him and in turn love others through and for Him. None of this fuels fear but snuffs it out. So, take heart and have no fear. Seek Him who knows all and take comfort in the ways He is for you always.

If you feel any kind of presence or appreciation in these blogs, it would mean a lot to see some contributions to my written ministry. No matter what, know that you are worthy to live without fear and to ignite His light inside of you greater than. Thank you for your time and life.
