Charlie Kirk

Yes, I have titled it as such. The internet is now booming with the topic of this man – sharing his debates, his talks, his memorial contributions, the dissecting of what actually happened, the pain of loss, the joy in Jesus, his very biblical traditional views and ways with family and even some hurt people sharing their own hurt through hate. And, I guess if you want to say that I have joined the “band wagon” you can but stay with me because there is more to it than what meets the title.

My last post on my instagram page before removing the app from my phone the day of his assassination went like this: “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” [Genesis 3:5] and I continued in the description with: Serious question here. Do any of you actually feel better, more alive and more connected to God and all creation as you take in all the amounts of information from all over the world through any media? I personally do not believe we were made to know and feel this much. I see how God saved us from living in this fall forever by sending us away from the tree of life. The devil wants your attention, he wants you to live miserably and to follow him through this world and into his abyss. The overload of knowledge and the pitting against one another over everything is making a greater fall than most realize. John 10:7-10, John 17:20-26 (Please take a real moment to read these. You can look them up online even.)         There is a good many things we can learn from the internet at the tip of our fingers and stay in touch with people through it AND there is even more of distraction and separation from real presence. It has become the norm to know all the terrors of the world instead of letting God be God, even scarier is how a lot of people are desensitized to these terrors because it is just literally in our faces at any moment.

I jumped off all apps but youtube, because I like to listen to some prayers and worship music there, and yet I still get caught up in the first few things showing on youtube about Charlie Kirk and I do watch a couple at times. Here is where I want to catch us though. Even if we are following a man of faith with solid values and a mind that was able to easily articulate tough topics for people to process and even bring light to areas that are hidden… it is still a distraction and separation from presence with God and our people with us in person (if it is consuming your time, mind and energy more than what your child, spouse or work need).

Now, here is the flip to that and what is also so awesome to receive in scope of the internet – more people are opening their Bibles, people (of every kind) are experiencing very real Christ encounters and not only that… there has become a fire of Christ that is burning through every nation’s peoples with marches for Jesus! For someone that has literally cried over nations in prayer for a Christ revival, this is exciting and something definitely needed. “It’s harvest time!”, as one of my loved pastors at CFC east said on Sunday’s service. Yes, the time is now and we are being culled and called to ignite the souls of our brothers and sisters to know Him.

So, while Charlie might be overtaking the internet he is also very much still a servant to our Lord and Savior through these times. What is also interesting is that if you tune in to his debates, which I knew a few but now more, there is nothing hateful about his responses, statements and ways of educating but, the ones that are responding to this incident with such character are showing their positions very clearly. “So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known…” [Matthew 10:26]

What side do you want to be on? (No, this is not a political or personal question but rather a real life and soul one.) One is worth only temporarily but no matter what both options will have a lasting impact for your soul. Might not seem like something worth your time now but if you knew the stark differences between what the soul can experience you might consider life that is now more.

If it is in your heart and availability, I would greatly appreciate any support allowed for our life and the continued efforts in my book.
