Cardamom is not Coriander

Lately with the autumn season I have been thinking about the coffees that I used to have with Melissa at the Dog Daycare and would find myself trying to remember what spice it was that we would have. Yes, pumpkin spice is nice but this was a different woody sweetness that I was craving with my usual cinnamon. Every now and then it would bloop back in my memory and I would have the satisfying, “Cardamom!” aha moment yet still not have any cardamom coffee to seal in with a complete satisfaction.

Our current space has some spices and I found it and was excited that it was provided for me. So, this morning I start to splash some of the spice in to the coffee beans when I hear the little voice, “Mom, what’s that?” and I read it to my son… “It’s coriander…” thankfully he kept me from putting in more as I realized that it was not what I was wanting. I went ahead and made the coffee and said, “Well, I guess I will see how this goes.” hoping that it was still a decent coffee to drink.

To finish up this light and comical post. Coriander is definitely not cardamom but it actually isn’t bad and I have been able to still enjoy my two cups for the day. Have you made a coffee flop before? Do you want to help me get a cardamom coffee? 🙂
