Let’s talk about Joseph

Not the Joseph that is recognized most with the special jacket, the brotherly betrayal and then with the prophetic dream coming into reality… a great Joseph to know and learn with but there is another Joseph that gets a role of an extra that I feel needs a little more acknowledgement.

Miriam aka Mary the virgin mother of Jesus the Christ was engaged and later married to a man named Jospeh. This Joseph is one of the most stand up men and I think needs more recognition. This man only gets mentioned as a role of an extra in the main show but the truth is this man is the back bone and deserves more credit. While there is not much about him in the Bible you can read far beyond the words to determine this with me.

First, Joseph is the one that was from the line of David. Then when he was concerned about the pregnancy, obviously not knowing what to think about taking this young lady as his wife anymore, he followed the message he received from the angel because he was a God fearing Torah following man. He did a very long journey towing his very pregnant bride on a donkey to Bethlehem and helped bring forth the life that is our Savior as a newborn. He protected his wife and the baby and followed instructions when they were received by the messengers of God (angels). He stood by his wife, made a big family, worked hard as a carpenter and made sure his children had a solid Godly man role model.

God doesn’t make mistakes and there are no coincidences when it comes to His way and story. I wonder if even though there is not much more honoring Joseph or any description on his passing but maybe there was divine connection in the way that there was another righteous man of God named Joseph whose tomb was used to bury Jesus in for those three days. Could this be a way of connecting and honoring the way that Joseph brought Jesus from the womb in a cave and then using the same name and maybe similar traits to bring Him into the tomb for that allowed peace on the body as He took over hades and resurrected?

Whether I am connecting something or not, I still want make sure there is some respect given to the man who held the proper role as a man.
