Water Your Worth

Currency is usually a reference to a form of money or another form of article for circulation as a form of exchange and or barter. Exchange is the act of giving and receiving one thing for another. Most of the time when these two things are mentioned and especially together, they represent money and different types of money from around the world. But what if there was a currency that was more common and yet also more valuable? Some thing that is done every day and usually more unconscious than realized, especially these days…

Did you know that they way you interact, do, breathe, read, watch, walk, think and talk every day is a form of currency and a greater exchange than anything you barter or buy? You yourself are a magnificent and lovely current and everything you do is a form of worship. Wait… why did I bring up worship?! Some of you might halted at. Well, here is the truth. Each of us were made on purpose and each of us have the most beautiful gift of free will where we get to choose how we live each moment… but each choice also comes with an exchange that is either spiritual, physical, mental or emotional and sometimes all of the above. And this is not anything new, you can see this all through the Bible and any other form that you will choose to study outside God’s word. Soooo…. what’s the point? Why I am bringing this up and feel it necessary to mention beyond the anticipated, “yeah and?” response.

Something happens in many layers when you start to shift into deliberateness and to deepen your relationship with Christ. The way you think, address things, carry yourself and influences you allow shift. You literally cannot draw closer to God and stay sinful or in a state of darkness/ignorance – it is impossible as God is perfect and loves all. Just as the priests had to consecrate themselves before entering the temple we too have to be transformed as we continue to draw closer to Him and allow Him in to us more. I have noticed this throughout my journey especially from the very fallen point of telling God that I was done with this world and life and to allow me to find a way to come home back in 2019 and the very loving way His response was, “Not yet, you have work to do.”. Every way of who I was that gets converted into who/how it needs to be, the more sensitive I become to the very real changes that have taken place.

You see, our life is a form of currency and as we live we are constantly establishing exchanges of some kind. The music you listen to, what you read, what you watch and yes the people you involve yourself with. All of this is establishing some foothold into the ways that you live and interact with life. I noticed music quickly – when I was living in sin and throwing my currency into the void I was listening to really empty and derogatory music and then when I was saved this music literally made me feel disgusting in every way. Movies was another thing that I noticed easily – what used to be funny is now foul, foolish (not good) and looks like a waste of time. These are just the most common forms of influence that most do not realize are creating a greater life exchange as you allow them to shape you. Are you awake and aware of these nuances? Have your senses become more sensitive to the ways of the world and how there is a pull to influence you in the negative? What ways are you establishing filtering, boundaries and changes in order to bring about more of the worth that your life truly is?

This is no small feat or task and I will also add that the only way that I have been able to feel these things and make progresses is due to the very real effect of allowing Christ to save and change me for the better. Hallelujah!
