Rejected? Take Heart

Have you heard about bummer lambs? There are times when a momma ewe rejects her baby… as a warrior momma I have no idea how this is possible except for this very real life process that takes place afterwards. A good shepherd would see that this lamb was being rejected by its own mother and not able to be brought into the flock and take the necessary steps in order to keep them alive. The lamb wouldn’t die from lack of food but from a broken heart, so the shepherd would hold the lamb close to their heart, keep them warm, give them nourishments and then when strong enough with love and health the lamb would be brought back into the flock.

I am convinced that God allows such things in order for us to feel and connect with, just as the Word shares about lives that we might all at some point be able to see ourselves in as we draw closer to Him. There is great healing that is needed when a baby/child feels unwanted but, here is what is beautiful about this. When the shepherd calls the flock to move them or feed them, it is the bummer lambs that run to the shepherd first. You see, in the times when we ourselves are either born to parents that are not ready or not fully healed in their own pains of life we get to turn to the shepherd to be accepted and when accepted by the Lord, every other type of want for love just fades in the background.

This is also something that is shown regularly through history shared in the Bible. While Jacob was in the womb, God let Rebekah know that the younger would end up being greater. Leah, while not wanted by Jacob became the mother of a great lineage. Joseph, denied and sold by his own brothers became the one that ended up insuring their livelihood. Hannah, mocked for not being able to conceive was blessed with a great man of God for the people. David, dismissed as even one of Jesse’s son’s became the greatest warrior and king for the nations. All the way down to our Lord, Yeshua (Jesus the Christ), mocked, denied and murdered, defeated death, gave life and has taken authority over all realms becoming our Good Shepherd, King of kings, Lord of All, the great Redeemer. (Hallelujah!)

Many of us might see the world, other families or ways of living and feel sad, lost and or disappointed but, these are the ones that gain greater heart for the Lord because it is the greatest Love and known deeply, intimately and as everything. As the tenth commandment says, “Shall not covet after your neighbors house.” – do not desire after another person’s life. God has established a way, a life and a perfection in it all. While it might sting and hurt to be rejected, open your heart to the One that made your heart and keeps it beating, invite Him into everything, trusting that He doesn’t make mistakes and has made you on purpose for His great image in all things.

You are loved more than any human can give, you are wanted more than this world can show and you were made on purpose no matter the circumstances. God bless!
