Jesus changes Everything

From what I have seen through my (entire) life experiences, is it seems almost like a lot, maybe even most, “Christians” either don’t know or have lost the true depth in the meaning of looking towards, accepting, being forgiven and to follow Him. The world is easy to follow, it is constantly in our face and if we are not always deliberate with what we choose to interact with, see and do then we enter into the autopilot of the world and next thing you know you are speaking like and acting like everyone else instead of the perfect one.

There is a very real reason why He tells us to stay on the narrow path, the narrow path is not easy, it takes direct focus on what is ahead and where one steps. As I share this post I want to first state that while I am doing better and better it is a working progress and I am by no means writing this as a personal share but an open call for us all. I would also suggest that everyone read Psalm 119 with time and deep attention.

So here is where all this comes from. Have you read Leviticus? God wants us to seek Him, know Him and be right for Him. He gave his commands that we are to look to, digest and absorb in all that we are and do not as a form of punishment but as a way to connect and to take out of the ways they were used to with renewal in who we are. We were made in His image and for His glorious vision in All things. So beyond the commands for structure, He also gives continued grace. “Stiff necked people” as it is said and not easy to mold and takes some extra refining. Leviticus is all about how to accept forgiveness and be cleaned when there is guilt, sin and iniquity in a person or persons. Just as the Tent of Meeting had its incredible details and ways of being brought to be, these rituals are also very specific and necessary in order to receive the Lord and to continue to be led by the Lord.

I love how God has gifted me a child to see things from both the wounded adult perspectives and from the simple child like ways, we have a lovely Jesus story book and it so beautiful ties all the ways Jesus is woven through the entire love story of God and His children and then as I continue to go deeper with Him in the Bible I am able to add that simple in with complex gaining an even greater appreciation. (Hallelujah!) I often like to call Jesus by Yeshua because it means Yahweh’s Salvation and when we see that it makes it even more obvious just how great and on purpose He is for us. From the beginning He was with it all and has been through it all, for us all.

Lets look at the uncleanness of menstruation just because it is a simple and regular part of life that is just assumed but, this is a time of uncleanliness and per the ritual that was written we are not only to be set aside from others but to also go through an atonement and cleansing through washing and taking either two turtle doves or two pigeons and to offer them as a sin offering and a burnt offering in order to be clean to enter back into the congregation and be connected with God. Can you imagine doing this now? With great appreciation we don’t have to because Jesus gave His life and provided the ultimate sin offering for us.

Tying this in to the previous post about the bummer lambs this same thing is seen through the Bible and our own lives. People that know the kingdom of darkness and have been saved, people who have lived in sin or received painful rejection for being seen as less than or maybe even unclean… these people know that true value that has been given to them and that He literally changes and has changed everything. The best, and maybe most personal, image in the Word is the woman who comes uninvited and washes His feet with her tears, removes her covering to use her hair to wipe them clean – she knows what He means to her and doesn’t care about any of the others around, she knows that He sees her, loves her, is forgiving her and setting her on a path that is only possible because of Him. The woman with the twelve years of bleeding is obviously another example and then Mary Magdalene who was cleansed from seven impure spirits is known throughout history as the one that got to see and share the Good News first, completely devoted to Him and knowing that she has life and is able to be because of His worth in her.

So, those who don’t know or believe I pray He shows you something that opens your eyes, heart and life entirely and for those that know of Him… I would like to suggest that we each and all take a little more intention to all we are and do, recognizing that He changes everything and makes everything possible for our Father’s glory.
