Water Your Worth

From the ways we dress, to the ways we communicate and respond, all the way into the depths of our thoughts… everything is an opportunity to be better.

We were made in the image and likeness of God, yes all of us! And it is not something to just brush off, it is so special and important that it has been written and we are regarded as precious to Him because of this. The world and the enemy wants you to question that and take you in another path that is a perversion of the true image. Thank God for Jesus and how He shows us the way to step out of the snares of lies and into Truth.

So, as we go through this deliberate walk and following, usually starting after repentance and baptism, the old starts to sluff off and we start to notice the things that are not in alignment with the new – everything becomes a real opportunity to come alive and be like Him. The best part is that as we connect in prayer and the Word we are not left without tools and understanding but, given ways to look to and to feel into. To be continually renewed day by day…

As David writes in the Psalms, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10). When we know that we have been saved and whose we are, all we want to do is become pleasing to Him. Everything becomes an opportunity to turn to Him, to seek His way and to be in awe of the incredible grace given. God is the Almighty, the Creator and Master of All, He thought us up and gives us life and He is worthy of us wanting to be in alignment with that image and then taking the steps into.

The enemy doesn’t stop but our quickness to respond properly does as we continue to use each opportunity accordingly. It was recently brought to my attention how I reacted to a response too quickly because it challenged my character and this is where I got the opportunity to acknowledge that and to repent/change, to “Submit all my ways to Him” so that He can direct me properly. Some might think that this is a letting go of self and responsibility but, it is actually so much more than that and it takes a shift in mind and seeing to be able to acknowledge this. Letting go of the selfish, self centered ways of seeing things, the ways we want to control all things and realize that we still have responsibility for our selves and actions but, that there is One that is ultimately in control and One that we are to answer to – hopefully sooner than later…

I believe that we all feel these opportunities when they happen but get so caught up in the everything else that they just let is slide by instead of addressing it. There will come a point when everyone takes a look at themselves and says, I don’t really like this way, and start to make shifts. Some people never change, that is true and some take on change with a direct mission in knowing that if they do not change then they will only be experiencing a continuation of the things that reflecting those ways. Yes there is a real heaven and hell and our souls know it, this why so often the things and ways of this world just don’t satisfy fully (only momentarily).
