“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him and He will make straight your paths.” “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will act.” “Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” “But first seek the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.” …
As a parent we want our children to ask us if something is okay to do and will help them further along with their discipleship and it is even more vital for us as Children of God. I believe this is one thing that really tugs at God’s heart and what broke His heart first when Eve chose not to ask Father first…
I have seen in my own life and progress that as I see things as opportunities (see previous post), when I take a little pause to ask God in prayer or to read the Word or maybe just look to Jesus, then I am able to make better choices and there is a clarity and peace connected that truly only comes from Him. It is easy to react and just go full speed in the ways that the world has established but, it is far more rewarding and growth allowing when we just take that small breath, pause and submit the situation, the thought or conversation to Him and then address it.
He wants the best for you and His best for you is far greater than anything that you might think your best is, He knows you better than you know yourself (do you know how many hairs you have on your head?) and He gives wisdom freely when asked. So, what is a few seconds compared to a better way?
There are so many things that have been corrupted in the ways that they are seen and acted upon. Submission when done from the heart, respectfully and out of your own free will is one of the most beautiful and helpful action and response. The Creator of the universe knows all things and can help with all things, you just have to make that quick but deliberate choice before going into the auto or reactionary and just say, Lord help me with this. He loves you so much!
