Have you ever heard yourself think, ‘Oh, I already know that story or have already heard such n such…’? Did you stop from it or continue regardless of the ego?
I am continually wow’d by how the Bible literally never gets old and how each time I read something there is always some new layer or lesson that I am led to. I have come to see and know that one of the enemies tactics is to keep us from the Word. The Word is not just powerful in our lives and connections with God but, in the ways that we overcome darkness – in our minds, our hearts and our spirits (self and involvements). As it is written, “be transformed…” and “Your Word is a lamp to my feet…” This is all threatening to the enemy and any darkness and so one of his biggest tactics is to either bring distractions or to make you think that you know it all and don’t need it anymore. This is false and needs to be combated with strength and vigilance – push through and continue, make time regardless of distractions… no matter what, do it anyways.
“Take your thoughts captive…” discernment is a great tool and God will help you with it as you ask for His help. No matter where you are with your journey home, He will meet you where you are and you still have some form of awareness of who He (Christ) is – look to Him and ask if it is something that looks like Him or that would please Him. I know this world runs fast and sometimes we have to act quickly but the more we choose a little pause and focus the more fine tuned it becomes and easier it will be. He and your life are so worthy. May we (all) choose life both now and forever. God bless!
