I had to stop my reading to make this post as light and smiles filled my awareness pausing to look at my child snacking and worshipping. My child was completely unaware of my watching and listening and totally enjoying the moment. This. This is where I get little pats on the back with delight and encouragement from God.

Music is so influential. Most know this, but do most actually adjust in this knowing? I think I shared about this already a little bit but it continues to be confirmed as the absolute right thing to do in moments like this. November last year, Holy Spirit led me to delete all music and music followings on my phone and to download our favorite worship songs and listen only to music that fills us with life giving lyrics and tunes. I don’t know exactly when it started but at some point we would make little jingles based on some of the Bible verses that we would talk about. I had no idea how much they meant to us, I was only doing them to have fun at first, but we regularly sing them together and appreciate them.

I love hearing my child worship and pray on their own and praise God there are some awesome artist lifting up the Lord now a days to add lots of variety in our days. I truly believe that children are closer to God than we are and that we are to be good shepherds, stewarding what God has given us for Him – this is only done when we connect deeply with the Lord and immerse ourselves in His word, worship and praying ourselves – we have to rely on the Great Shepherd in every way as I know how easily the enemy can slip in without proper foundation.

It is truly a delight to worship the Lord. There is good reason as to why David sang and rejoiced, why timbrels and flutes were made and continued and why the enemy flees as we rejoice and give praise to the One and Only Living God. Hallelujah!

  • both of these are so God lead and offer real Word in songs with various “vibes”

Then there are some great artists that are doing shows and adding lots of greatness to the music industry: Forrest Frank, Lauren Daigle, Toby Mac and the Anointed Family just to name a few with some different “flavors” and tend to be in our rotation. We also really enjoy a lot of the Messianic Judaism songs and one great group we found is SoluIsrael.

Our voice and worship is a weapon in itself and this is one of the reason the enemy uses the entertainment industry to plug you with ear worms that are full of decay and sin and filth… singing trash fills you with trash and you will see trash. But! As our ancestors knew and encouraged, singing joyfully to the Lord disturbs the darkness and fills us with light while also pleasing the Lord. So Awesome! Then adding the actual Word into song and singing along…. boom! So, nourishing and life giving, (why I included the links of the two that I have been brought into connection with).

“This is the day that the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” He is so worth it, life is worth it, you deserve it. Let’s celebrate!
