Most of us are aware of the very real necessity of money in order to trade for living, food, clothes, etc. But, how many of actually consider where and how the money is allowed?
The employer, the client, the banks… are probably where most minds go to… but that is not the ultimate source. God is the ultimate funding and it is He who establishes the allowance of all things. As stated in Luke 12:20 “But God said to him, “You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?”” It is easy to look at the bank account and the work done and what is needed and get caught up in the drive of hows – how do I make money? how do I keep money? how do I get more money?… this are regularly on most people’s minds and obviously for good reason, things need to be bought in order to live in this world… but what if the how is simpler? What if that how has been in front of you the entire time but you were looking past it?
Yeshua tells us to “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these other things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33, this is a very real sentiment and command, “… for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” Matthew 6:8 – this is one of the many comforts that are given to us in the Bible, our great God and Father wants to take care of us, He knows what we need more than we do and all He wants is to asked first, to be sought first and to be able to share His provision. It is so beautiful! And yet we often set Him aside and forget…
You see… “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24 and Luke 16:13 God is greater than our thoughts and ideas and the ways He can come through for you is truly miraculous. The problem continues though that even when He does the “thing” most run forward with it and forget to acknowledge that it is God who is the One that made it happen and allowed it to be. He just wants to be given proper thanks for what you have received, recognizing that your very existence is because of Him.
I know it is busy at times, that is where the enemy wants you – so busy that you forget about the One True Living God who loves you and provides for you, but, it only takes literally a second. Then there is the other trick of the enemy where we get in a panic not knowing how anything will actually work and come through and try to do whatever we can to make something and sometimes compromise our own morality in the process… all the while forgetting that we have an AWESOME Father who made the entire universe who cares for us and wants to give us what we need. (I am coming from a personal experience with all of this as well as I have both seen and operated from these stand points and honestly… nothing worked properly until I just got out of God’s way.)
SO! Here is my challenge for us all. Firstly, can you acknowledge that you are not God and God is God? Then, are you able to seek Him first before jumping to conclusions, jumping into a hustle of your own or settling for something that you just know is not for you or your best? And lastly… Would you give Him the glory He deserves for what you have already and the fact that you even have all these options in the first place?
I am on the “Seek first the Kingdom” challenge and I would love for you to share if you will join me or add testimonies on how He has impacted you in His provisions – So worth it.
